About Alpe d'Huez

Known as one of the liveliest ski resort in the French Alps, Alpe du Huez is a very sunny for its sunny, extensive terrain and spectacular views across the Southern Alps. Alpe du Huez has a wide choice of different runs, well-suited to all levels. The ski area consists of approximately five ski resorts and two traditional mountain villages: Alpe d’Huez, Auris-en-Oisans, La Garde, Le Freney d’OisansReculas. Area it covers are 10,000 hectares which includes 250km of linked pistes extending over an altitude range of 2,200m.

Alpe d'Huez can commonly be referred to as the Island of the Sun as most slopes are aligned towards the south. The national society of meteorologist supports these findings with an average of 300 sunshine days a year comprising of up to seven and a half each day in December and 11 in April.
